Description
xImmerse yourself in the rich heritage of our Persian Gabbeh Tribal Wool Rug, measuring 160 x 107 cm (5.25 x 3.51 ft). The Gabeh rugs are woven by the Qashquai (kashkai) tribe in Southern Persia. They are the Turkic Tribe and the most important, most advanced and the most prosperous of the tribes of FARS. They are also the best weavers. They are almost completely nomadic, and during eight months of the year they inhabit, in their black goat's hair tents, a high belt of country which extends for about 150 miles northwards. In the autumn they move from highlands to the warmer coastal country which lies west, southwest and south of Shiraz.
In the olden days the Gabeh rugs were only produced for their own domestic use. During the 1980's the western dealers discovered these simple rugs, with their abstract designs, which were very good for accompanying the new and modern furnishing and decor. During the last part of the 20th century, these rugs were the best sellers, worldwide. Although Gabeh have been in production for centuries, they were almost unknown to the outside world. They have a thick pile, with very simple designs.
These types of rugs are a perfect companion with modern furnishing, and one can put them almost anywhere in the home, from a child's room to a sitting room.
This one is woven with very good quality wool and is very hard wearing as well as being decorative and beautiful. The design is very interesting and is a very primitive way of showing the tribal motifs; the tribe’s people get their inspiration from everyday life.

xReturns
You may carefully unroll and inspect your rug at home. If you change your mind, notify us within 30 days after delivery. Please take reasonable care of the rug and return it securely packaged. The customer pays the direct return cost for a change-of-mind return unless we expressly agree otherwise.
Where you exercise a statutory cancellation right, we will refund any standard outbound delivery charge paid. We will refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back or, if earlier, acceptable evidence that they were sent back.

Buyers Guide
xRug Buying Guide
Choosing the right rug can add warmth, comfort and character to your room. Consider the size, material, colour and intended use before making your selection.
Size & Placement
Choose a rug that suits the proportions of your room. In a living room, placing at least the front legs of the furniture on the rug helps connect the seating area. For dining rooms, allow enough space for chairs to remain on the rug when pulled out.
Style & Colour
Select colours and patterns that complement your furniture and interior. Neutral rugs create a timeless appearance, while stronger colours and detailed patterns can become a focal point.
Pile Height
Low-pile rugs are easier to maintain and are suitable for hallways, dining rooms and other frequently used areas. Higher-pile rugs feel softer underfoot and work well in bedrooms and quieter living spaces.
Material
Wool rugs are durable, naturally insulating and comfortable underfoot. Silk rugs offer finer detailing but require more careful use. Synthetic rugs are generally practical and easy to maintain.
Care & Maintenance
Vacuum regularly using a suitable low-suction setting, rotate the rug periodically and avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Specialist professional cleaning is recommended for handmade wool and silk rugs.
Important to Know
Handmade rugs may contain slight variations in size, shape, colour and pattern. These natural irregularities are part of the rug’s individual character and are not considered faults.
