Experience the rich tradition of our Old Persian Gabbeh Tribal Wool Rug, sized at 240 x 170 cm (7.87 x 5.58 ft). Kazak rugs originate from the western Caucasus region, traditionally inhabited by Armenian and nomadic Kurdish tribes. These vibrant rugs feature prominent stylised floral designs, with primary colours including reds, blues, greens, and yellows. Our Kazak collection includes exquisite quality rugs crafted using natural dyes and Ghazi hand-spun wool.
The largest and original area within the Kazak group is Kazak itself, extending from Erivan in the Armenian Caucasus to Tiflis on the Georgian border, reaching southeast towards Karabagh. The Khanate of Kazak produced both thick, high-pile rugs from mountainous regions and thinner, low-pile rugs from valleys, villages, and settlements, each with distinctive and easily identifiable features.
