This rug features highly stylised floral motifs in vibrant reds, blues, greens, and yellows, crafted with natural dyes and Ghazi hand-spun wool, showcasing fine traditional craftsmanship.
The Kazak district, the largest in the group, stretches from Erivan in the Armenian Caucasus to Tiflis on the Georgian border, extending southeast to Karabagh. The Khanate of Kazak produced both thick high-pile rugs from mountainous areas and low-pile rugs from valleys, villages, and settlements, each with distinct, easily recognisable characteristics. This Kazak Red Rug beautifully reflects the rich heritage and unique style of this historic weaving region.
