This is a newly manufactured Ziegler rug, inspired by the original designs of the renowned Ziegler brand founded in the late 19th century by a Swiss man in Manchester, England and Sultanabad (now Arak), Iran. Ziegler rugs were known for their high quality and beautiful, tone-on-tone pastel colours, with all-over designs inspired by Mahal and Farahan styles that catered to the European taste. Today, antique Ziegler rugs fetch record-breaking prices at auctions, especially in the USA.
This particular rug collection is woven with very high-quality wool, making it both decorative and highly durable.
