Explore our collection of one-of-a-kind handmade Kazak rugs, selected for their bold geometric patterns, rich colours and durable wool construction. From compact runners to room-size statement rugs, every available piece is individually photographed and ready for free UK delivery.
What makes a Kazak rug distinctive?
Kazak rugs are recognised for confident geometric medallions, angular motifs and expressive colour combinations. Their designs are associated with historic weaving traditions of the Caucasus and have also inspired skilled rug makers in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Because every handmade rug varies slightly in colour, proportion and detail, each piece has its own character.
Choosing the right Kazak rug
Start by measuring the area where the rug will sit and leave a visible border of flooring around it. Medium and large Kazak rugs can anchor a living or dining space, while narrow pieces work particularly well in hallways and beside beds. Use the filters to narrow the collection by size, colour, price, material and age.
For long and narrow spaces, explore our runner rugs. For a larger room, browse our large rugs. You may also enjoy our wider tribal and nomadic rug collection and Afghan rugs.
Craftsmanship and provenance
Most Kazak rugs are made with a resilient wool pile and a cotton or wool foundation. Many are hand-knotted, while some Kazak-inspired flatweaves use different traditional techniques. Each product page states the rug’s dimensions, materials, construction and recorded origin so that you can compare pieces accurately.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Kazak rug?
A Kazak rug is known for bold geometric designs associated with historic Caucasian weaving traditions. Contemporary Kazak-design rugs may also be woven by skilled makers in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
Are Kazak rugs Persian rugs?
Not in the strict geographical sense. Persian rugs are made in Iran, while Kazak designs are associated with the Caucasus and are also produced in other established weaving regions. The product details identify the recorded origin of each rug.
Are all Kazak rugs handmade?
The rugs presented in this specialist collection are selected as handmade pieces, but construction can vary. Check the individual product page for the technique, materials and origin recorded for that rug.
Are wool Kazak rugs suitable for busy rooms?
Wool is naturally resilient and Kazak rugs are often well suited to living rooms, dining rooms and hallways. Regular vacuuming without a rotating brush and prompt attention to spills will help preserve the pile.
Can you help me choose the correct size?
Yes. Send us the room measurements or a photograph and our team can recommend suitable pieces. A home viewing may also be available depending on your location.
